Launching third party shop of accessories from from original art - Highly recommend the tote bag. Personally vouch for the quality. Print on both sides of soft linen-like 100% polyester, fully lined in matching solid black fabric. Love it. Other items and prints available.
Floating Frame
November 1, 2019 (one day)
Love using Illusion floater frames with Velcro. This allows the painting panel to be changed depending on season, mood, decor, etc. The painted panel fits down into the frame without covering up the painting, but covering up the sides of the panel.

For 3/4" Canvas (Series 075): 3/8" face, 3/4" rabbet, 1-1/4" overall depth

Vicki Vidal Blum Class Summer 2015
July 9, 2015 (one day) |
Herndon, VA
Wrapped up a class I've been taking - finally finishing a large (for me) painting. It's a great class which I have taken before (and will again this fall). The artist/instructor puts together multiple set ups and somehow recreates them two weeks in a row - in this case, we worked on our paintings for three weeks and only the apples looked slightly "aged." Amazing given it's painting from life yet the setup is literally the same the next week.

The main subject in this painting is called a Dallah (thank you Google images). It is a traditional Middle Eastern coffee pot. I guess it goes without saying that I kept referring to the spout as a beak! That thing is HUGE. Not sure why a peacock had to wander by, but enjoyed that challenge as much as I did painting a mixed-metal pot. Vicki sure knows how to "echo" colors and complements (orange in pot and peacock feather - bronze/reds with green). I hope you like how it turned out too.
